My ancient allowance to buy the entire Canteen!

As a Gen-Z grown-up, still having the memories of my precious snack prices I used to reward myself weekly when I was a student still at school.

Two pounds= A current five-pound crisps

Believe it or not, it was just two pounds. Either two coins numbered with one or two one-paper numbered banknotes. My parents would pile up for about five coined pounds a week which my brother and I would take two pounds each and the extra coin would live another week topping up with the following weekly dose.

It might look ridiculously viewed from the point that our parents are a bit mean though they weren’t. Think logically about it and you’ll find out that it was a time when the current five-pound Chips/crisped potato was only two pounds. Half a pound would grab you two cheese-sprinkled popcorn flamingly that one pound would bring you FOUR sacks of this snack.

Humming to reach for a big sliced pizza was only two pounds and a half in any ingredients enriched with even the meat or chicken chops. Drinking a half-liter soda would cost you two pounds. Then, half is returned if the bottle is renowned.

It was a time it was easy to save behind your parents to open up your own piggy bank account. Exchanging a piled coin for a higher numbered pound paper to reach an amount where you can buy something more EXPENSIVE. A bouquet of flowers for your mum with only FIVE pounds on Mother’s Day!

Hey Gen-Z, that was a time when Blazing Teens and Dinosaur King would blare our boring studying-system minds when we rush home at 3-4pm.

OH OH OH, it was a time. It was in the past! It shall be called our golden childhood!!

 NOW,

 EVERYthing HAs CHANged!

At school, a cheese sandwich might cost over 20 pounds. A drink is now an arrow pointing to 10 pounds. Any snack sac is pumping at the five pounds and some are aiming tip-toe to the 10 so soon. The remaining changes are “bonbons or chewing gums”. The time to save up is deludingly weaker.

Now a child’s allowance every week will be 50 pounds! Will it be enough!?

Laughing and mocking my thoughts, right? You might blindly murmur it is unbelievable to have some allowance weekly, right!?

It is so mean as it should be daily… Hey you halt-minded reader, is it OK to learn how to save and set some expense priorities.!?

Varieties are full of options, but saving is a must.

To a point, everyone can rely on homemade sandwiches but having too much food buying will violent your spending into a more widened arena you will be debited by then.

Habitual essential spending should now be the children's guide motoring them to spend sensibly even in terms of entertainment as prices continue to rise in an unsteady manner. Though adults may have difficulty saving "some amount of money" as what is now earned is fluttered on home's basic expenses due to unautocratic increases.

If by any unpleasant coincidence reading this, what amount of money would you consider handing it to your children??
